Welcome to Jan’s Confections!
A little story about the journey of my cake career. I am born and raised from Philippines. I started my culinary journey in my Grand Mother’s Restaurant. I used to watch her making Filipino dishes while my mom was making Wedding cakes. They were my inspiration in my career and the reason why I took hospitality degree in Philippines. After I graduated, I moved to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and worked as a baker and cake decorator. That’s where I learned all the recipes, techniques and molded my skills as a cake artist. I lived there for almost 3 years until I got the chance to move to United States. I have a full-time job and still do up to now. But during the start of pandemic 2020 I got laid off from my work and I decided to start making cakes again and that’s when I created Jan’s Confections. I already made hundreds of cakes, cupcakes and I’m still loving it. For me baking and cake decorating is not just a job. It is my passion and its very therapeutic for me. It makes me happy! I hope you will enjoy all the sweet treats that I will make.
